Cotranspose is a creative project aiming to reclaim inactive
spaces through cultural and social interactions.

The project invites creatives to (re)use those spaces, work together and co-create while building a sustainable relationship of exchange with the communities that facilitate them.
Within this framework, Cotranspose aims to provide a collective experience of the trans-local production of stories, dialogues, and knowledge that leads to the creative cultivation of shared spaces. By replacing the concept of patronage with that of feminist hospitality, it wants to move away from the sociocultural hierarchies paradigm to an extension of care ethics. Can we remember how to co-create with radically anti-competitive and fundamentally supportive methodologies? Shifting away from commercial and consumerist approaches to art and blurring the lines between practitioner, participant, and the public, Cotranspose aspires to create an ongoing dialogue between selves, cultures, and lived experiences.

Residencies
Residencies
We host creatives in the small villages of North Evros, providing them with housing and versatile working places in reclaimed locations.
These creatives can engage in self-initiated periods throughout the year or join our organized group residencies.
*Since 2022, we have hosted 160 creators!
Cultural Happenings
Cultural Happenings
We give back to the communities that host us by organizing events and happenings that enrich cultural life and foster community engagement. These activities are co-created with residents, enhancing connections and creating vibrant local experiences for everyone involved.
*We have organized 3 festivals celebrating creative exchange among international artists and the local community!
Creative workshops
Creative workshops
We co-create workshops with residents and participating creatives in various fields such as arts, crafts, music, theatre, photography, and local practices and traditions. These workshops provide opportunities for everyone to discover and develop their skills together.
*This year at our festival, we introduced Sxolico, a program fully designed to offer workshops for kids!
Social projects
Social projects
We initiate projects focused on repurposing infrastructure, creating public spaces, and enhancing services provided to the community. These projects are developed in collaboration with locals, ensuring their needs and ideas are at the forefront.
*We established the “STEKI” cultural centre in Dikaia! Additionally, we have created Co-llection, an interactive archive designed to collect local (hi)stories.
Educational programs
Educational programs
We host research programs and facilitate students' learning experiences. Participating creatives and locals often contribute by offering mentorship and expertise. Through these collaborations, we enhance the educational journey for all involved.
*We collaborate with Utrecht University of Arts (HKU), hosting students for the ICUBATE and International Arts Minor Programs!
